Refreshing routes for the summer in Granada

16 Jun, 2020 | News

Granada is full of contrasts, high mountains and beaches, and plans that you cannot miss. If you choose to lose yourself in nature for a day between tapas and monuments, we recommend the ‘Los Cahorros de Granada’ route.

Thanks to its proximity, it is presented as a great getaway option to do it in the same day. It seems incredible that this place is only 15 minutes by car from the city of the Alhambra. A quiet place, where the peace and freshness of its river and vegetation triumph over the bustle of the center of Granada.

The Monachil River, the protagonist of this place, is born at the Veleta peak of Sierra Nevada, and throughout the way you will cross it through the mountains, its pools and its waterfalls, in which you can take a refreshing dip. Also, the landscape is dotted with hanging bridges, not suitable for vertigo travelers!

We recommend comfortable shoes, sandwiches and water, and of course, a swimsuit!

ACCESS BY BUS. The stop is just a few minutes walk from Broz Hostel.

Take line 183 * to Monachil (not to be confused with the one that goes to the Monachil neighborhood), which leaves from Paseo del Salón (on the banks of the Genil river), and get off at the last stop, and from there, go up the street on the river bank.

  • bus 183 (Monday to Saturday not holidays)
  • bus 181 (Saturday afternoons, Sundays and holidays)
